Language Learning should be slow but steady

Some of you may be discouraged because you haven’t seen progress in your language learning. But, it’s important to understand that language learning is a gradual process and not something that can be achieved instantly. With technology like ChatGPT and instant messaging, it can be frustrating to experience slow growth, but that is just the nature of language learning. It requires a different approach than subjects like coding or math. The key is to immerse yourself in the language and develop a connection with it.

One way to learn is by taking a slow and steady approach. It may not yield quick results, but it will lead to true growth. To help with this, try treating your language learning like you would a plant. Plant a seed and water it every day. Similarly, nurture your Spanish every day by doing a small activity in the language, such as reading a paragraph, listening to audio for one minute, or watching a YouTube video. There are many resources available online, so find a topic you’re passionate about and explore it in your target language.

As you consistently work on your language and nurture your “language plant,” which grows along with you, you’ll begin to see progress. Focus on learning one new word each day and incorporating it into your practice. In a few months, you’ll notice that you are able to understand more text and audio and make fewer mistakes in speaking.

Remember to enjoy the journey and have fun with your language learning, just like you would with a real plant. Take it slow and steady, and don’t be discouraged by the lack of immediate results. With persistence and love for the language, you’ll get there.
